Traditional methods of immunochemical analysis: from scientific basis to practice

This review provides information on the scientific basis, advantages and applications of immunochemical analysis (radioimmunoassay, enzyme immunoassay, immunofluorescence, etc.), traditionally used in the major areas of medicine (oncology, immunology, allergy, endocrinology, etc.) and in biological sciences, ecology, pharmacology, etc. The general requirements for the main components of the immunochemical test systems (high-purity antigens, antibodies, labeled ligands) were elucidated.
